Applying for a visa
If you would like to compete at the World Masters Games, you need to apply for either a visitor of sport visa. Judges, adjudicators, officials and other supporting staff may apply for either a short stay business visa or a sport visa.
If you would like to visit family or friends or simply sightsee in Australia, you need to apply for a visitor visa.
If you need to attend a meeting or conference in Australia, you need to apply for a short stay business visa.
If you need to undergo medical treatment or consultations in Australia, you need to apply for a medical treatment visa.
If you need to transit Australia as part of your onward trip to a neighbouring country or if you are a seaman who needs to join a ship in Australia, you need to apply for a transit visa.
If you are a seaman who is either joining or leaving a ship in Australia, you need to apply for a maritime crew visa.
If you are intending to undertake studies in Australia, you need to apply for a student visa.
If you need to be in Australia temporarily for work purposes (eg entertainer, media/film staff, religious worker etc), you need to apply for a temporary residence visa.
If you would like to work in Australia for more than three months, you need to apply for a long stay temporary business visa.
If you are an Australian permanent resident and you visa will expire or has already expired, you need to apply for a resident return visa.
If you would like to move to Australia, you need to apply for a migration visa.
